Each year, Harbin (the capital of China’s northernmost province) transforms the city into a winter wonderland, where architects and artists from around the world showcase their skills by carving massive blocks of ice into intricate designs. The celebration is an incredible testament to human creativity and the resilience of architecture against and in harmony with the forces of nature.
As the technology industry has made a shift from smartphones to smart watches, to home security systems and even smart refrigerators, the concept of a smart home has become practically ubiquitous. So, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that we are on a path towards the launch of what is being called a “Smart City.” As technologically-minded architects, we were fascinated to hear this trend develop further and discover how it might impact how we design urban spaces.
In the dynamic world of architecture, the fusion of branding and design has become increasingly significant. This convergence is not just about aesthetics; it’s a strategic approach that reflects the ethos and identity of a firm or its clients.

In the realm of architecture, true accessibility transcends mere adherence to codes. It is an art form that intertwines inclusivity, empowerment, and respect for every individual’s dignity. This approach not only eliminates barriers but also enables people of all abilities to engage fully and independently with the built environment. At COR3 Design, we understand that accessible architecture is about understanding and responding to the diverse needs of all users, ensuring that our designs are not just functional but also enriching and empowering.
As a firm with extensive expertise in retail developments, we are continually fascinated with trends emerging in the evolving landscape of the industry. Looking ahead to 2024, experts are predicting retail environments will continue to emphasize the customer experience–with a keen eye towards sustainability.
At COR3 Design, we’re deeply inspired by this rich, colorful history of signage. We strive to keep this legacy alive by fusing the elegance of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, which is why we were fascinated to return to some of the early days of architectural signage’s boom.
