As a firm with extensive expertise in retail developments, we are continually fascinated with trends emerging in the evolving landscape of the industry. Looking ahead to 2024, experts are predicting retail environments will continue to emphasize the customer experience–with a keen eye towards sustainability.
At COR3 Design, we’re deeply inspired by this rich, colorful history of signage. We strive to keep this legacy alive by fusing the elegance of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, which is why we were fascinated to return to some of the early days of architectural signage’s boom.
This year, the COR3 team has really deepened our focus on how we can better serve and connect with the community we call home in Greenville, South Carolina. In addition to sponsoring events that support local nonprofits and volunteering with physical opportunities to give back, we decided to start a new tradition this year on the day of our holiday party.
Our team recently completed the design for the TRU by Hilton hotel in Augusta, Georgia. This project is being developed and constructed by Paragon Hotel Company. The design is a prototypical representation of the TRU by Hilton product, a sub-brand of Hilton Worldwide designed to compete with other select service models in the area. The design of TRU by Hilton was intended to be scalable so properties could fit in any location, no matter the unique parameters.
As the countdown to the new year approaches, our COR3 team can’t help but ponder our goals for 2024. As expert planners who pride themselves on staying ahead of the game, why not speak into existence the ideal project for the coming year before the ball drops. We asked our team what would make for the perfect project if we could have our way from start to finish.
We are thrilled to celebrate our talented Project Architect, AIA, NCARB, Khris Kirk, as she recently completed all requirements and testing to become a Registered Architect in the state of South Carolina. This is no small feat, as completing this registration requires a series of rigorous examinations and years of qualified experience.
At COR3 Design, we are deeply passionate about community outreach, so much so that it is one of our main core values as a company. One organization in particular we support is Habitat for Humanity, Greenville, a nonprofit committed to the work of building an equitable community for all of Greenville’s residents.
During a recent expedition to Egypt to celebrate a family wedding with team member Marie Ayoub, Terri and Brian Doiron found themselves in awe of the incredible architecture present throughout the country. Like many, they were particularly enamored by the pyramids, which are truly larger than life and equally as mysterious. The trip served as a historical and cultural education, as well as incredible inspiration for COR3’s work back in the United States.
Design is underway for Dave’s Hot Chicken in Greenville, SC, a Los Angeles-based street food brand. The food brand is also opening locations in Columbia, Charleston, and Myrtle Beach as part of its South Carolina expansion. Dave’s initially opened as a parking lot pop-up in 2017 and now has over 60 locations across the United States and Canada.
We recently completed a project with Hobby Lobby of Lecanto, Florida. As a longstanding collaborator with Hobby Lobby, we were delighted to have the opportunity to bring the 55,000-square-foot store to life. The building is part of the new Corta Commons in the area and joins other retail operations like PetSmart, Panda Express, and Skechers. We partnered with RealtyLink on the project.
