During a recent expedition to Egypt to celebrate a family wedding with team member Marie Ayoub, Terri and Brian Doiron found themselves in awe of the incredible architecture present throughout the country. Like many, they were particularly enamored by the pyramids, which are truly larger than life and equally as mysterious. The trip served as a historical and cultural education, as well as incredible inspiration for COR3’s work back in the United States.
As architects and designers, we constantly have our ear to the ground for inspiration. One thing we absolutely can relate to is the theme of constraints. Rarely do we come into a project where there is a blank slate opportunity to simply create something beautiful and functional.
As architectural designers who truly cut our teeth in the retail field, we were tickled to read a story about Swedish retailer IKEA trying to eliminate a core element of their design–-and the backlash that followed from loyal customers.
Every year, the World Architecture Festival releases a list of 15 designs around the world (SOURCE) that will become eligible for awards at the annual festival (taking place in Singapore later this year). As architects and designers, we take great delight in studying the creativity, beauty, and courage evident in each project.
Alex joined COR3 Design after completing his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Clemson University in 2025. During his studies, he developed a strong foundation in construction documentation, detailing, and design technology. He now applies those skills daily to support COR3’s diverse commercial projects.
At COR3, Alex assists in creating and refining construction document sets, managing redlines, and performing due diligence to ensure design accuracy and buildability. He is proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling, contributing both technical precision and creative perspective to each project.
Originally from Greenville, Alex is half-Brazilian and fluent in Portuguese, bringing a cultural awareness and global mindset to his work. Outside the office, he enjoys hiking, woodworking, graphic design, and attending local music and community events. Alex has also been recognized on the Clemson University Dean’s List and volunteers with the KROC Center Architecture Club.
